How to Promote Fiverr Gigs Effectively

How to promote Fiverr gigs is becoming more and more difficult for new sellers as more and more people are joining the platform as sellers on a daily basis. Buyers, on the other hand, rely mostly on reviews to make buying decisions. Reviews on Fiverr are something that these new sellers do not have.

I will be discussing how you can drive real human traffic to your Fiverr gigs. Ultimately, this post is about how to send real human visitors to your Fiverr gigs. One of the most popular ranking factors on Fiverr is the number of impressions, clicks and of course orders on your dashboard. A seller who has no impressions and clicks will ultimately have no orders.

Promoting your fiverr gig impressions

One of the most effective ways to promote your Fiverr gig effectively is by sending traffic to your gig, this is because the Fiverr algorithm works a lot like Google search algorithm. Sending traffic to your gig tells the software that this gig is receiving this much traffic because it is important hence the need to rank this gig on the first page of Fiverr’s search result for related keywords. Driving traffic is one of the many ways to fool the Fiverr algorithm to give you a better position in the ranking. You might be wondering what these other factors are.

Let us take a look at them before we come back to the traffic aspect.

Keyword Research

This is very important before the gig is created because it enables you to think like your potential buyer. At this stage, you identify the keywords that these buyers will most likely type into the Fiverr search bar. When you make a search on Fiverr, these keywords usually appear just below the search bar.

fiverr gig keywords

These keywords will form the basis of your Gig Title, Gig Description, Gig tags.

Fiverr Gig Title

To avoid keyword stuffing, My advice is to smartly input 2 or 3 of these keywords in your gig Title eg:

I will make Business, Minimalist and Unique Logo design

What I have done is smartly put in Business, Minimalist and Unique logo design into our title. These are keywords that potential buyers will most likely use to search for out my gig.

Having these keywords in the title makes it easy for Fiverr’s algorithm to match a query to our gig.

Fiverr Gig Description

It is also important to embed all the search keywords above to your gig description. The mistake a lot of people do make is to copy the entire keyword and paste it into the description.

A good example is

Business logo design, Minimalist logo design, unique logo design, professional logo design, creative logo design, modern logo design and signature logo design

Unfortunately, this will not be allowed by Fiverr because it is tantamount to “keyword Stuffing”. The fact that we repeated logo design 7 times is the problem. The right way to do this is

Business, Minimalist , unique, professional , creative , modern and signature logo design

Having this inside your description at some point will put you on the right path towards promoting your Fiverr gig.

fiverr gig related tags

These related tags help the Fiverr understand what your gig is about and the keywords we talked about earlier comes in handy again. I got the image above from someone’s gig that is ranking number one on Fiverr for logo design and you can see that MODERN LOGO DESIGN, BUSINESS LOGO DESIGN, and PROFESSIONAL LOGO are all part of the keywords we identified in the beginning. These related tags allow for only 5 entries. The gig owner being a smart guy now added LOGO DESIGN AND DESIGN LOGO as completion knowing fully well that people might type it either way.

While you are reading this and educating yourself on how to promote gig on Fiverr. It is important that you understand how important Keyword Research is to this topic.

How to Promote Fiverr Gigs on Social Media

Social media comes in handy when it comes to promoting your Fiverr gig as well. and I will be taking you through how you can drive traffic to your gig using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium, Blogs, and Quora.

Twitter

What most people do is to go to twitter and paste their links. The problem with this is that it is boring and you most likely have no followers. Nobody wants to follow a weirdo who posts links bout something he has to sell at every point in time. Do not do this!

What you should do on the other hand is to provide real value. It is called social media for a reason, you need to socialize, join conversations, use trending hashtags and then post your link. You must be smart about this link posting.

Assuming there is a topic that is trending on twitter right now and everybody is talking about it. What I would do is to comment on the topic and put it in there that I could make a better logo to represent that.

You can put twitter influencers on notification so once they post, you be the first person to comment with your link. Most of his followers will most likely check out your comment first before they leave theirs. The majority of them will definitely check out your link and land on your Fiverr gig. They might not buy but the constant traffic that is coming to your gig sends the right signal to Fiverr and you will watch your gig rise straight into the first page of Fiverr Search Engine Result Page (SERP).

Instagram

I am not a fan of Instagram simply because posts get pushed down over time and will most likely never be found because there is absolutely no search. Instagram does not allow links but tools like LinkTree will help you add your Fiverr gig link to your Instagram bio. Actively follow influencers and be controversial with your comments, People will want to know who this controversial human being is and they will check out your bio, click on your link and land on your gig. If you are a designer, do well to have your designs on your Instagram page. You need to put your best foot forward so that everyone who visits your page will want to buy their next logo from you. This Instagram account can also serve as a portfolio page for your potential clients when they contact you on Fiverr.

Facebook

My Facebook strategy for Fiverr gig promotion is not so different from Twitter and Instagram. Facebook, however, has groups and pages with millions of members and you are allowed to join them for free. My strategy is to join these groups and since most of them require approval to make a post I attack the comment section the same way I do on twitter.

Smartly join the conversation and leave your link at the end of the day.

LinkedIn

Get on LinkedIn if you are not there already. Connect with as many people as you can especially influencers. Comment on their posts and smartly embed your Fiverr gig link.

Blogs

Blogs can be effective in promoting Fiverr gigs. The approach is to visit blogs that have recently published an article related to the gig you offer on Fiverr. Read through the blog and leave a relevant comment with a link to your gig.

Medium

Medium is one of the biggest free blogging platforms out there with very high domain authority. All you need is to get a free medium account and start writing blog posts around your service on Fiverr and link out at some point to your Fiverr gig.

Quora

Quora is one of Google’s most trusted website. It has loads of information as most of these are user-generated. It is more or less like Yahoo Answers. The Quora strategy would have been to answer questions around your niche and drop your Fiverr link. This used to work until Quora had to block Fiverr links because a lot of Fiverr sellers were abusing it.

What I do is to write my article on which is an answer to a question on Quora and publish it on Medium. The medium link can now be placed on Quora. Kindly note that the Medium article already has a link to my Fiverr Gig.

Buyers Request

This is Fiverr’s internal mechanism aimed at connecting potential buyers to sellers like you. Fiverr gives you the opportunity to bid for 10 requests posted by a buyer daily.

fiverr buyer request

All you need to do is identify the requests you can fulfill and submit an offer. The mistake I see most sellers make is to copy and paste a template for each offer. Don’t do this!

Respond to each request individually and mention certain things in their request to prove to them that you actually read it. It passes a message that you are the kind of seller that pays attention to details.

Summary

Fiverr doesn’t have to be so difficult to navigate if you have the right information and you are willing to act on the information. I have made all the mistakes and learned a lot in the process since 2016. I have also picked up over $50,000 on Fiverr and these methods are what I used to make it happen. My aim is for us all to win together which is why I keep putting what others consider a secret out here so we can all win together on Fiverr.
